Korea has become an interesting place to travel to. This is apparent as we see numerous tourists around us at Ewha and at other places in Korea. Are they coming here because they are fans of Korean celebrities and want to catch up with the latest makeup and styles used by celebrities? Do they want to visit places that appear in dramas? All these questions had been left unanswered until we interviewed 21 groups of tourists near Ewha and asked questions about Korea. We were curious about the reasons why they came and wanted to figure out what they think about Korea.

There are many places that attract tourists such as Myoung-dong, DongdaeMun, Hong Dae or Gangnam. The most popular place is Ewha. Many of the tourists said that Ewha is popular because they saw it featured on the entertainment program called Running Man. They are impressed by its beautiful view and unique architecture, including the ECC. Also, they can shop for clothes and cosmetic products nearby. The other place tourists love to visit is Myoung-dong. They said that this is a good place for shopping and is famous for street food as well.

The good parts of Korea are tasty food (especially the barbeque), warm weather near sea, clean streets, and nice people. However, they have a hard time recognizing Korean symbols. Therefore, they hoped that the names or landmarks would be written in English to locate the places easily. Also, the tourists we interviewed said that they have communicating with Koreans. This is due to the fact that Koreans and foreigners do not have a common language such as English to converse with each other.

We have been curious about the reasons why many people around the world have come over to Korea and we had never thought about the reasons. Every tourist has a different taste and style that they prefer. We wanted to know what they thought of and liked about Korea. In the end, we questioned them about whether they have an intention to visit Korea again, and their answer was “yes!”
